Minutes of the General Meeting of the European Association of

American Square Dance Clubs held on 12 July 1958 at Heidelberg, Germany.

 

The meeting was called to order by the President, Fred Weber at 1630 hours.

  1. Treasurer's Report

Fred Weber asked that Clubs keep the Association informed of changes to club officers and list of members, and any Clubs or friends that anyone might know to encourage them to join the Association, either as a Club or Associate member.

 

  1. Fred gave a short summary on Nita and Manning Smith giving an idea of the type of program to be expected,

 

  1. Report on Worlds Fair will be published in a special bulletin to be distributed to the clubs under separate cover.

 

  1. Fred indicated that Mr. Harry Wanman has been selected as central reviewer for pictures taken at the Fair. Anyone who took pictures should contact Harry in order that the demonstration can get full coverage in the American magazines. Those people who have color slides should bring same to Chiemsee for the Roundup where a special session will be arranged for those interested in looking at the slides.

 

  1. Rick Holden felt that as many people as possible should send a shot of themselves to local hometown newspapers in order to obtain wide publicity throughout the United States. Criss Cross stated he had asked people to do this and felt the majority had already done so.

 

  1. Fred announced that Ed Duskin accepted the General Chairmanship for the Annual Round Up and he would be assisted by the Association officers and also members from the Heidelberg Hoedowners. Dick Baughman to be the Program Chairman.

 

  1. Ed Duskin gave a short talk on the Program for Chiemsee indicating the plans for the children etc. He stated that flyers would be sent out with registration forms for billets probably in the next two weeks.
