OLD BUSINESS:

The proposed changes to the Association Constitution which were present to the Board of Directors at the special meeting on 10 January were brought up for discussion and action by the President.

1st Change: After an explanation by Wes Keyson, John Hansen of the Darmstomper Square Dance Club moved that the proposed change be adopted as written. The motion was seconded by Ken Smith of the Beaux and  Belles. The motion carried by two thirds of the members present.

2nd Change: Stan Bernheim of the Merry Mixers moved that the proposed change be adopted as written. The motion was seconded by Herb Franck of the Beaux and Belles. The motion was carried by two thirds of the members present.

3rd Change: After a short discussion, Tom Estrada of the Calico Squares moved that the wording be altered to read, "Clubs or individual members who have not paid their dues by the 28th of February of the new Association Year or the day of the Spring Jamboree, whichever is earlier, will be suspended from membership in the Association. Suspended clubs or individual members may be reinstated upon written application to the Board of Directors and payment of the delinquent dues". The motion was seconded by Herb Franck of the Beaux and Belles. The motion was carried by two thirds of the members present.

The question of teen-agers and age limits for membership in the Association was presented for discussion by Wes Keyson. After a discussion, the representative of the Joyeoux Melangeurs, Dreaux AFB, moved that the Association shall set no restrictions as to the age limits of members. Each member club shall have the right to determine the age limits of its own membership and the Association shall accept all members of member clubs without regard to age. The motion was seconded by and carried by a majority vote with the Beaux and Belles, Paris Squares, and the International Stumbleweeds voting against the resolution.

NEW BUSINESS:

Three newly formed square dance clubs requested membership in the Association.  The American Embassy "Etoile Eights" and the "Stuttgart Strutters" were accepted without discussion by a unanimous vote.

The "LAMC Stars", a children's' square dance club, was accepted, by a majority vote, subject to the following proviso: The LAMC Stars' constitution be amended to require that the club be represented at the meetings of the Association by two adult members who are members in good standing of the Association. Second, that the children will dance in their own group at Association functions unless invited to join the adult dancers. The above was moved by Ken Hanley of the Kuntry Kuzins and seconded by Stan Bernheim of the Merry Mixers.

Wes Keyson announced that the Fall Round Up will be held at the Frankfurt Zoo and that Lee Helsel will be the big name guest caller.

Wes announced that the Summer Jamboree would be held in Darmstadt on 2 July and sponsored by the Darmstompers.

Wes thanked the Ruffles and Shuffles for sponsoring the Spring Jamboree and congratulated them on the good job.

The meeting was adjourned at 1630 hours.
