The General Membership Meeting of the European Association of American Square Dance Clubs (EAASDC) was called to order by the President, Ted & Sonja Anthony at 1030 on 13 December 1975 in the Rheinhalle, Ketsch, Germany.

There were 39 clubs represented.

Gene Chadburry gave a talk on the western wear concessionaire soon to be opened in Post Exchanges around Germany. He solicited information from clubs as to which items would be most in demand by Square Dancers.

OLD BUSINESS

The Mannheim were commended for their tremendous efforts in hosting the Winter Jamboree and congratulated for producing a wonderful dance.

Ted reminded the membership that as we will realize no profits from the Bi-Centennial Dance in May, what money we have in the treasury must last until the Summer Jamboree in 1976.

Motion was made and seconded to dispense with reading of the minutes of the last meeting as each club representative was provided a copy or the minutes.

The Financial Statement was read and approved.

Corky Pell asked each club to help with the promotion of the Bi-Centennial Dance by helping sell raffle tickets in advance. Corky also stated that 10% of the contributions to charity will be deducted as operational costs and given to EAASDC.

NEW BUSINESS

Don & Gisela Huff - Special Projects Director will be leaving Europe before expiration of their term of office. Steve and Dolores Nutbrown were appointed as replacements. Ted expressed his thanks to the Huffs for their contribution to the Executive Council.

A Special Bi-Centennial edition of the Chatterbox will be given to dancers attending the Bi-Centennial Dance.

Four new clubs were accepted into the Association: The Honey Bears, a childrens club in Wiesbaden; The Misty Squares, Illesheim; The Bonn Square Dance Group; and The Goeppingen Grasshoppers.

Motion was made seconded and carried to grant Ted permission to correct typographical errors in the constitution prior to submission to USAREUR for approval.

The calendar was corrected to add The Hicks A Chicks Anniversary Dance on 13 March 1976, The Stuttgart Strutters Anniversary Dance on 27 February 1976, The Hicks & Chicks Chuck Wagon Dance on 21 August 1976 and The Boots & Ruffles 20th Anniversary Dance on 3 April 1976. Ted asked for full support of the Boots & Ruffles 20th Anniversary Dance as they were the fourth club to join EAASDC.

The Buttons & Bows will host the Round Up for 1976 at the Sportgemeinde in Kaiserslautern on 3, 4, and 5 September.

Members of (EAASDC) have forwarded $1600.00 in support of the 16 Wheel Chair Club forming in Japan. This is enough to purchase one square of chairs in time for Christmas.

A number of questions arose concerning "Copywright Dances". Ted explained that EAASDC charters for these dances were for the name only, and not any particular date.

Ted asked the membership to read his letter in the January Chatterbox concerning the EAASDC Calendar of Events, and forward comments to him by the 25th of January.

Motion was made, seconded and carried by the majority to change the format of the Chatterbox. Rolf Schuster, Editor, reluctantly agreed to change the format with the February issue.
