Minutes of the General Membership Meeting

on the 1.September 1979 at the Round Up in Frankfurt

First there was a roll call and the following clubs signed in:

The minutes were approved after changing one point: "The current contract between EAASDC and the Chatterbox is an unlimited contract." Another change was not accepted, it was, all clubs and not only the clubs in Germany have to pay the GEMA-dues.

The Treasurer's report of the last 3 month and the annual financial statement were read and approved.

Old Business:

1. Jamborees:

1.1. Summer Jamboree 79 Heilbronn:

The Jamboree was a real big success. Thank you everyone that came.

1.2. Student Jamboree Jan. 80 Karlsruhe:

The costs for the hall will be 175,- DM. " ' \

1.3. Round Up 79 Frankfurt:

The upper hall will be opened in the evening for dancing; No smoking or drinking in the hall. Information for the clubs should be picked up by a representative of each club and given to the clubs.

1.4. Winter Jamboree 79 Darmstadt:

Flyers are available. The entrance fee will be 9 DM.

1.5. Spring Jamboree 80 Scherpenzell:

The entrance fee will be 11 DM. Pre-registration is possible, babysitting is available.

1.6. Round Dance Festival:

A location hasn't been found yet.

1.7. Summer Jamboree 80 Munich:

A nice, but very expensive hall is available, but they are still looking for a cheaper hall.

1.8. Summer Student Jamboree 80:

Still open for clubs to bid on.

New Business:

Both clubs got the jamboree with no oppositions and no abstentions.

Susan and Bob gave a short report and introduced their Boards. Gene took back his nomination because he has started calling and cannot be both.

Bob and Kay Kurczewski were elected for President of EAASDC.

6. New Clubs:

6.1. Bernemer Squeezers:

The club night is on each 2nd and 4th Sunday from 19.00 to 21.00 in Frankfurt. They have 10 members and their Caller is Bill Brenneman.

6.2. Susie Q's RDC:

They dance in Böblingen the 1st, 3rd and 5th Tuesday.

Cuer: Marie-Luise Schubert.

They don't have the approval of the Community Commander yet and so they were accepted, but have to show the approval.

7. Remove EAASDC from USAREUR:

A motion was made and accepted: "A group will find proposals to discuss at the Winter Jamboree."

So the current and the new Board will present some aspects (pro and contra items) to discuss at the Winter Jamboree.

8. GEMA Contract:

The penalty for 1978 is paid, 1979 dues will be paid now and 1980 dues must be paid in December 1979.

A copy of the current GEMA Contract will be given to the clubs.

9. Board-Comments:

9.1. Publicity Director:

Please announce all changes to the Publicity Director, Secretary, and Chatterbox.

9.2. Secretary:

Please get the membership cards from me.

9.3. Treasurer:

9.3.1. The Treasurer has worked on a new contract between EAASDC and Chatterbox. Rolf wants to check the contract and at the Winter Jamboree it will be discussed.

9.3.2. The discussion on the GEMA payment for 1980, maybe "25 DM for each special dance" was postponed to the Winter Jamboree.

9.4. Liaison:

Susan already gave the ECTA-Comments and she thanks everybody for the support she had.

9.5. Special Projects:

Thank You for the cooperation and the support.

9.6. President:

2 comments: Glad to get out of the chair. Welcome to the new President.

The President said thank you to the Board for the support he received in most, but not in everything.

10. Forms:

10.1. "Special dance":

The clubs are asked to make a copy when they are having a special dance. The forms must be filled out by the clubs. Charter dances have to request the date.

10.2. "Questionnaire":

An organization in the U.S.A. is collecting information about all clubs and will make a book including this information. So please fill the form out and give it back to the President.

11. Square Dance Band:

The band plays Rock 'n' Roll as well as Square Dance music. They are from the U.S.A., don't want money, but ask for accommodation and meals and the musical instruments must be rented for them.

12. Motion of adjournment:

The motion was made, seconded and accepted.

Das Protokoll wurde mit der Änderung angenommen: "Der gegenwärtige Vertrag zwischen EAASDC und Chatterbox ist ein zeitlich unbegrenzter Vertrag". Eine 2. Änderung wurde abgelehnt. Danach sollten alle Clubs und nicht nur die Clubs in Deutschland Gema Beiträge zahlen.

Die Finanzberichte der letzten 3 Monate und des ganzen Jahres wurden vorgelesen und angenommen.

Alte Angelegenheiten:

1. Jamborees:

Die Jamboree war ein großer Erfolg und allen, die kamen, wurde gedankt.

1.2. Student Jamboree Jan. 80 Karlsruhe:

Die Kosten für die Halle betragen 175,-DM.

1.3. Round Up 79 Frankfurt:

Am Abend wird die obere Halle zum Tanzen geöffnet sein.

Rauchen und Trinken in der Halle sind verboten.

Informationen für die Clubs sollten von Vertretern der Clubs genommen werden und an den Club weitergegeben werden.

1.4. Winter Jamboree 79 Darmstadt:

Flyers liegen aus. Der Eintrittspreis wird 9 DM betragen.

1.5. Spring Jamboree 80 Scherpenzell:

Der Eintrittspreis wird 11 DM betragen. Voranmeldung ist möglich, Babysitting wird angeboten.

Eine schöne Halle, die sehr teuer ist, wäre möglich. Aber die Münchner suchen noch nach etwas Billigerem.

Susan und Bob gaben einen kurzen Bericht und stellten ihr Board vor, Gene nahm seine Nominierung zurück, da er mit dem Callen begann und nicht beides tun will.

6. Neue Clubs:

Der Clubabend ist jeden 2. und 4. Sonntag von 19-21 Uhr in Frankfurt. Sie sind 10 Mitglieder und haben Bill Brenneman als Caller.

6.2. Susie Q's RDC

Sie tanzen in Böblingen jeden 1., 3. und 5. Dienstag. Cuer: Marie-Luise Schubert

Da die Bestätigung des Community Commanders noch fehlt, wurde der Club aufgenommen, mit dem Zusatz, dass die Bestätigung gebracht werden muss.

7. Loslösung der EAASDC von den USAREUR-Regeln:

Es wurde ein Antrag gestellt: "Eine Gruppe arbeitet Vorschläge aus, die bei der Winter Jamboree diskutiert werden." Diesem Antrag wurde zugestimmt. So wird das neue und das gegenwärtige Board etwas ausarbeiten, das das "Für und Wider" enthält, und über das bei der Winter Jamboree diskutiert werden kann.

8. GEMA Vertrag:

Der Beitrag für 1978 ist bezahlt, 1979 wird jetzt bezahlt und 1980 muss in Dezember 1979 bezahlt werden.

Der derzeitige GEMA Vertrag wird an die Clubs ausgegeben.

9. Board Kommentare:

9.1. Publicity Director:

Bitte alle Datenänderungen bekannt geben an Secretary, Publicity Director und Chatterbox.

9.2. Secretary:

Bitte holt die Mitgliedskarten bei mir ab.

9.3. Treasurer:

9.3.1. Der Treasurer hat einen neuen Vertrag zwischen Chatterbox und EAASDC ausgearbeitet. Rolf will diesen Vertrag durcharbeiten und bei der Winter Jamboree kann darüber gesprochen werden.

9.3.2. Die Diskussion über die GEMA Zahlungen für 1980, z.B. "25 DM je Special Dance" wird auf die Winter Jamboree vertagt.

9.4. Liaison:

Susan hat schon die ECTA Comments gegeben, und sie bedankt sich für die Unterstützung, die sie erhalten hat.

9.5. Special Projects:

Dankeschön für die Zusammenarbeit und Unterstützung.

9.6. Präsident:

2 Kommentare: Er ist froh, das Amt abzugeben.

Ein herzliches Willkommen an den neuen Präsidenten.

Der Präsident bedankte sich beim Board für die Unterstützung in fast allen Punkten, wenn auch nicht in allen.

10. Formulare:

10.1. "Special Dance":

Das Formular soll fotokopiert werden, so dass damit immer wieder ein Special Dance beantragt werden kann. Das Formular muss ausgefüllt werden.

Die Charter Dances müssen ebenfalls das Datum beantragen.

10.2. "Fragebogen":

Eine Organisation in Amerika sammelt Informationen über alle Clubs und gibt ein Buch darüber heraus. Füllt deshalb bitte das Formular aus und gebt es zurück.

11. Square Dance Band:

Diese Band spielt auch Rock 'n' Roll. Sie kommt aus Amerika, verlangt keine Gage , aber Unterkunft und Essen müssen bezahlt werden und die Musikinstrumente müssen gemietet werden.

12. Antrag auf Beendigung:

wurde gestellt, unterstützt und angenommen.
