(2) Secretary's report of the General Membership Meeting held on September 3, 1983 in Munich, published in the November issue of the Bulletin, was accepted.
(3) EAASDC Board Reports - The President apologized for a mistake on the calendar. The dance "Uff der Schwäbschen Eisenbahn" was on the calendar of 1985 instead of 1984. It will be corrected in the next Bulletin. The President also reminds that the calendar for Charter Dances is open five years in advance and requests for Special Dances can be put in at any time, only the Gema-Forms will be returned to the Clubs one year before the dance. Referring to the calendar the Heidelberg Hoedowners announced that their Castle Dance is on May 4, 1984 instead in February, because the castle is closed at that time
- The Secretary reports that the 1983 membership cards are also valid in 1984.
- The Treasurer reminds that dues and insurance for 1984 are due. He also wanted to clarify that all monies earned through the Bulletin go to the treasury and that every board member works on a honorary basis. The Treasurer's report as of November 15, 1983, published in the December issue of the Bulletin, is accepted.
- The Editor asks again especially the subscribers of the Bulletin to have their correct addresses with the Editor. He also points out that one copy of the Bulletin is free for each member club because the costs are already included in the yearly dues. Please make sure that your club members have access to it.
- Publicity reports that we would like to continue the series of articles on Charter Dances and their history. The clubs sponsoring Charter Dances are asked to give their input to Hanns-Dieter. He also reports that we receive many articles in only one language and that it is too much to translate for one person. Therefore we would like to establish a roster of 5-7 translators who would be willing to translate for the Association. If you are interested please contact any board member.
For the National Convention in Baltimore 1984 we are looking for a European representative. If you are planning to visit the Convention please let Publicity know. Hanns-Dieter also asks the clubs to please pick up the club mail in the lobby. It is not possible for the hosting club to mail the leftovers after the Jamboree or Round Up. - The President announces that the Editor has extra copies of the October and November Bulletin. So if you are interested in taking some home for your club or your students, please contact the Editor.
New Business
(4) Jamboree Reports by the - Unicorn Promenaders (Winter Jamboree 1983) - K-Towners (Spring Jamboree 1984) - Summer Jamboree 1984 - no report by the Brussels Dancing Hearts - Mannheim Mixers (Round Up 1984)
(5) Bids Winter Jamboree 1985 - the bid by the Bernemer Squeezers was withdrawn Other bids for the Winter Jamboree 1985 - none - Spring Jamboree 1987 - the bid from the Stintfang SDC for the Spring Jamboree 1987 was accepted. Spring Jamboree 1986 - Peter Baker reports that the British Association is willing to host a joint BAASDC/EAASDC Spring Jamboree 1986 which would take place on the campus of the University of Kent (Canterbury). Information about this will be in the Bulletin and the President asks to read this very carefully, because it will be voted upon the Spring Jamboree in Kaiserslautern. Other bids: - none
(6) New Clubs The following new clubs are welcomed to the Association: RODENBACHER SQUARE DANCERS They dance every 2. and 4. Thursday at the Bürgerhalle, 6458 Rodenbach, An der B 43 at 2000 and their caller is Ron Jedike.
SHILLELAGH SWINGERS, FÜRTH-ERLANGEN They dance every Sunday at 1730 at Mathildenstr. 17, 8510 Fürth and their caller is Gerry Germany.
WERTHEIM-PEDEN PARTNERS They dance every Thursday at 2000 at Gaststätte Waldhaus, 6980 Wertheim and their caller is Joe Dungan.
HARZ MOUNTAINEERS, CLAUSTHAL They dance every Wednesday at 1930 at Foyer der Physik-Institute, 3392 Clausthal-Zellerfeld and their callers are Ulrich Brand and Jürgen Skaruppe.
ALL SEASONS DANCERS They dance every Friday at 2000 (Students) and 2200 (Club) at the Hall of Cafe Sportman, 2120 Schoten (Belgium) and their caller is Ingrid Cornelis.
SILVER WINGS They dance every Monday at 2000 at the NCO-Club of the Selfkant-Kaserne, Geilenkirchen-Niederheid and their callers are Rudi Mennes and Rainer Mennes.
(7) EAASDC Nominating Committee The President proposes a formal constitutional change to the By Laws, Part IV, Subpart 2 that will in essence make the nominating committee in effect for one year at a time. That means, we will always have a nominating committee selected at the Spring Jamboree that will run for a year. The reason for the permanent committee is that we must always be looking for qualified people, not only for president but also for board members or people with special capabilities and talents. This will be discussed and voted upon at the Spring Jamboree in Kaiserslautern.
(8) Friendship Badges Referring to the article in the December issue of the Bulletin the Vice President asked again that names should be printed clearly on the Friendship cards. In the future there will also be a list available to sign for the various friendship badges which will be kept for our records. The list will also be for the MC's to read your names at the Grand March. More information about this will be in the Bulletin.
(9) The President thanks the membership for responding to any need we had, for instance hosting a Round Up, translating, a.s.o.
Other Business (10) The Association needs information and assistance from members that have computers or word processors. If you have any information or work with computers, please contact the Editor.
(11) Bob Kurczewski published a survey on dancers between the ages 4 and 16. The response was slow and Bob asks that you give your information to him.
(12) Peter Baker from England gave the information that if you have articles or input which would be interesting for the British dancers, to give your input to the Editor of the British Magazine "Let's Square Dance".
(13) The Bonn Square Dance Group feels that the present situation to the Charter Dances and the Charter Dance list is not satisfactory. They want to discuss this and also ask the Board to think about this problem. After discussion the President replies that we will think about this problem although we have no solution at the time. Ideas or information to this are welcome.
(14) There was a proposal to drop those clubs from the Association that have not been present for the last four Jamborees. This will be discussed at Board Meeting in March.
(15) The President thanked the Unicorn Promenaders for all their efforts put into this Jamboree.

PROTOKOLL DER ALLGEMEINEN MITGLIEDERVER-SAMMLUNG am 10. Dezember 1983 in Schwäbisch Gmünd
(1) Verlesung der Anwesenheitsliste: siehe englische Fassung
(2) Der Bericht des Schriftführers der Allgemeinen Mitgliederversammlung vom 3. September 1983 in München, veröffentlicht in der November-Ausgabe des Bulletins, wird angenommen.
(3) Berichte des EAASDC-Vorstandes - Der President entschuldigt sich für einen Fehler im letzten Kalender. Versehentlich wurde der Tanz "Uff der Schwaebschen Eisenbahn" im Kalender für 1985 anstatt 1984 abgedruckt. Der Fehler wird im nächsten Bulletin berichtigt sein. Der President möchte nochmals daran erinnern, dass für Charter-Dances die Daten bis zu fünf Jahren im Voraus eingereicht werden können. Auch für Special Dances können die Daten jederzeit eingereicht werden, jedoch kommt die Bestätigung erst ein Jahr vor der Tanzveranstaltung. Bezugnehmend auf den Kalender gaben die Heidelberg Hoedowners bekannt, dass ihr Castle Dance am 4. Mai stattfindet und nicht wie sonst üblich im Februar, da das Schloss zu dieser Zeit nicht geöffnet ist.
- Der Schriftführer berichtet, dass die Mitgliedskarten für 1983 auch im Jahre 1984 Gültigkeit haben. - - Der Schatzmeister erinnert daran, dass die Beitrage und Versicherungsgebühren für 1984 fällig sind. Auch möchte er klarstellen, dass evtl. Überschüsse vom Bulletin in die Verbandskasse gehen und dass jedes Boardmitglied ehrenamtlich arbeitet.
Der Bericht des Schatzmeisters per 15. November 83, veröffentlicht in der Dezember-Ausgabe des Bulletin, wird angenommen.
- Der Editor bittet nochmals darum, insbesondere die Privat-Abonnenten, die richtigen Adressen anzugeben, bzw. Änderungen sofort mitzuteilen. Er gab auch bekannt, dass jedes Verbands-Mitglied ein Exemplar des Bulletins umsonst bekommt, da diese Kosten bereits im Mitgliedsbeitrag enthalten sind. Sorgt bitte auch dafür, dass das Bulletin euren Clubmitgliedern zugänglich gemacht wird.
- Publicity gibt bekannt, dass wir die Serie über Charter Dances und ihrer Geschichte im Bulletin fortsetzen möchten. Die betreffenden Clubs mögen bitte ihre Artikel an Hanns-Dieter schicken. Auch werden viele Artikel in nur einer Sprache eingereicht und aus diesem Grund möchten wir ein Verzeichnis von Übersetzern erstellen. Wer daran Interesse hat, für den Verband Übersetzungen zu machen, wende sich bitte an ein Board-Mitglied.
Für die National Convention in Baltimore 1984 suchen wir noch jemanden, der den Europäischen Verband repräsentiert. Solltet Ihr zur Convention fahren, gebt bitte Publicity Bescheid. Hanns-Dieter wies nochmals darauf hin, dass die Clubs auch ihre Post in der Vorhalle abholen. Es ist nicht möglich, dass der veranstaltende Club die übrig gebliebene Post verschickt.
- Der President gibt noch bekannt, dass Extra-Exemplare des Oktober- und November-Bulletins zur Verfügung stehen. Wer welche für seinen Club oder seine Students mitnehmen mochte, wende sich bitte an den Editor.
Neue Angelegenheiten
(4) Jamboree Berichte werden gegeben von: - Unicorn Promenaders (Winter Jamboree 1983) - K-Towners (Spring Jamboree 1984) - kein Berichte über die Summer Jamboree 1984 von den Brüssels Dancing Hearts - Mannheim Mixers (Round Up 1984)
(5) Bewerbungen Winter Jamboree 1985 - Die Bewerbung der Bernemer Squeezers wurde zurückgezogen. Andere Bewerbungen für die Winter Jamboree 1985 - keine - Spring Jamboree 1987 - Die Bewerbung des Stintfang SDC für die Spring Jamboree 1987 wurde angenommen. Spring Jamboree 1986 - Peter Baker berichtete, dass die Britische Vereinigung sich bereit erklärt, zusammen mit EAASDC die Spring Jamboree 1986 auszurichten. Veranstaltungsort wäre das Gelände der University of Kent (Canterbury). Informationen hierzu werden im Bulletin veröffentlicht und der Präsident bittet darum, diese aufmerksam zu lesen, da über die Spring Jamboree 1986 in Kaiserslautern abgestimmt wird. SHILLELAGH SWINGERS, FORTH-ERLANGEN Der Club tanzt jeden Sonntag um 17.30 in 8510 Fürth, Mathildenstr. 17 und ihr Caller ist Gerry Germany.

(7) EAASDC Nominierungs-Komitee Der Präsident stellt den offiziellen Antrag, die Richtlinien, Teil 4, Abs. 2 zu ändern und zwar dahingehend, dass ein Nominierungs-Komitee gewählt wird, welches für ein volles Jahr im Amt bleibt. Das würde bedeuten, dass das Komitee während der Spring Jamboree gewählt wird und seine Aufgaben bis zum nächsten Spring Jamboree wahrnimmt. Der Grund hierfür ist, dass wir uns laufend um geeignete Leute bemühen müssen, nicht nur für das Amt des Präsidenten, auch für die anderen Ämter und für spezielle Aufgaben. Das Thema wird während dem Spring Jamboree in Kaiserslautern nochmals diskutiert und darüber abgestimmt.
(8) Friendship Badges Bezugnehmend auf den Artikel in der Dezember-Ausgabe des Bulletins bittet der Vize-Präsident nochmals daran, die Friendship-Karten deutlich zu beschriften. In der Zukunft werden auch in der Vorhalle Listen ausliegen, in die man sich für die entsprechenden Friendship-Badges einträgt. Diese Listen sind für unsere Akten und dienen auch den MC's, wenn er eure Namen für den Grand Maren vorliest. Nähere Informationen hierzu werden im Bulletin veröffentlicht werden.
(9) Der Präsident bedankt sich für die Unterstützung und das Echo, das er auf seine verschiedenen Anfragen von den Mitgliedern erhalten hat, sei es darum, eine Jamboree auszurichten oder Übersetzungen zu machen usw.
Andere Angelegenheiten
(10) Der Verband braucht Hilfe und Informationen von Leuten, die mit Computern oder Textverarbeitungsmaschinen umgehen können, welche zur Verfügung haben oder entsprechende Personen kennen. Bittet richtet Informationen an den Editor.
(11) Bob Kurczewski hat im Bulletin eine Anfrage veröffentlicht, die jugendliche Tänzer betrifft. Das Echo hierauf war nicht sehr groß und er bittet darum, dass ihr ihm die Daten zukommen lässt.
(12) Peter Baker aus England gab noch bekannt, dass Artikel, die für die Britischen Tänzer von Wert sein könnten, an den Editor des Magazins "Let's Square Dance" gerichtet werden können zur Veröffentlichung.
(13) Die Bonn Square Dance Group glaubt, dass die momentane Situation betreffend Charter Dances und Charter Dance Liste nicht befriedigend ist. Sie bitten um Diskussion und möchten auch den Vorstand bitten, sich mit diesem Problem auseinanderzusetzen. Nach Beendigung der Diskussion antwortet der Präsident, dass wir das Thema besprechen werden, obwohl wir im Moment noch keine Lösung hierfür sehen. Anregungen oder Informationen hierzu sind jederzeit willkommen.
(14) Es wurde der Vorschlag gemacht, die Clubs aus dem Verband auszuschließen, die mehr als 4mal bei den letzten Jamborees gefehlt haben. Dieses Thema wird während der Vorstandssitzung im März besprochen.
(15) Der Präsident bedankt sich bei den Unicorn Promenaders für die Mühe, die sie für diese Jamboree gehabt haben.
