The 49^th Bavarian Festival 2000

The better part of the program is done by callers and cuers from the floor, so it's a good opportunity for new callers and cuers to present themselves in front of a larger audience. Admission for dancers is free, the costs are divided among all the Bavarian clubs. All you should bring is a door price per club, a little present. In the evening these are distributed among the present dancers by drawing lots.

This year the Bavarian Festival took place on November 11^th in Amberg, hosted by the Squampfis.

Although for many dancers the way was longer than usual, we were happy to welcome 206 dancers of 46 clubs, 5 of which came from outside Bavaria. At the clubs' representatives meeting 35 Bavarian clubs were being represented which is quite good compared to the usual Jamboree Meeting. Da ein Großteil des Programms von "Callers and Cuers from the floor" bestritten wird, haben neue Caller und Cuer hier die Möglichkeit, sich erstmals einem größerem Publikum zu präsentieren. Der Eintritt ist für die Tänzer frei, die entstehenden Kosten werden unter allen bayrischen Clubs aufgeteilt. Allerdings sollte jeder Club einen sogenannten "Door Price" mitbringen, ein kleines Geschenk. Diese werden am Abend unter den anwesenden Tänzern verlost. 

In diesem Jahr fand das Bavarian Festival am 11. November in Amberg statt, ausgerichtet von den Squampfis.

Trotz der für viele etwas weiteren Wege konnten wir 206 Gäste von 46 Clubs begrüßen, davon waren 5 Clubs sogar von außerhalb Bayerns angereist. Am Meeting der Clubvertreter waren 35 der bayrischen Clubs vertreten, eine gute Quote, verglichen mit so manchem Jamboree. I want to give them a special thank you this way, for calling and cueing for us without payment, as it is the rule for the Bavarian Festival.

A thank you as well to all the callers and cuers from the floor - every sort was there, from the brand new caller, who did his very first calling in the public to very experienced and well-known callers. We enjoyed the different presentations and had lots of fun dancing and gossiping.

I want to thank all those who made this event possible, particularly the guests from near and far.

Ihnen ein besonderes Danke schön, dass sie sich bereit erklärt haben, wie auf dem Bavarian Festival üblich, ohne Bezahlung einen Teil des Programms zu übernehmen. 

Auch den "Callers & Cuers from the floor" gilt unser Dank - von absoluten Neulingen bis zu alten Hasen war wieder einmal alles vertreten, und recht vielfältig waren auch die Darbietungen. Entsprechend schön war der Nachmittag und Abend denn auch, und mit Tanzen, Reden und Lachen im Nu vergangen.

Ich möchte allen danken, die dieses schöne Ereignis ermöglicht haben, vor allem den Gästen aus nah und fern.

Wir wünschen dem nächsten Ausrichter alles Gute und allen viel Spaß beim Square und Round Dance beim nächsten Bavarian Festival am 20. Oktober 2001 in Straubing bei den Gäuboden Plowers.

Und auch wir Squampfis wollen im neuen Jahr nicht untätig sein, zum 14.7.2001 laden wir Euch alle wieder ein zum 6. Squampfestival mit Philipp Kamm.
