Christmas Story Contest / Quiz "Weihnachtsgeschichte" |
|
| When we were Round Dance Coordinator before,
we put a story similar to this in the December EAASDC Bulletin and a lot
of people had fun with it, so we decided to do this again this year. In
this story there are many titles of round dances on our repertoire. You
need to find them and make a list of what you found, then please send that
to us, either fax, e-mail or regular post. We need to receive them no later
than the 1st of February 2001. We will put all the names of the people
that have the correct answers (or the most correct if no has them all)
in a hat, and pull out 3 names. These people will receive a certificate
for free entrance to the Round Dance Festival, May 25-27, 2001 in Reilingen.
We will publish the answers, and the names of all who had
the correct answers in the March bulletin.
(Editor: we consider all of you so clever, we don't need any other articles to fill the March issue.) ECTA Round Dance Cuers are not eligible to win in this contest, though they may send us their answers for us to check if they wish. Dancers, each person is to do this on their own; please be fair to all. OK, here is the story. (If any one would like us to e-mail them a copy of the story so they can print it out themselves, we'll be glad to. Especially cuers, you might want to make some copies for your dancers.) |
Dance Festival (25.-27 Mai 2001 in Reilingen).

My dear sweet Caroline,There is a question that I keep putting off asking. It is a lover's question, and I get kinda nervous, but here it is. All I ask of you this Christmas is to be my Christmas bride. I have such a deep love for you. I know that in the past I have dated Julie, Patricia, Manuela and that other pretty woman (I don't even remember her name; she did have pretty blue eyes - but really, now I know that the lady is a tramp). While those might be some golden memories, that is all water under the bridge now. Now I can't take my eyes off of you! You are the only one for me; I love you more and more with each passing moment; you light up my life!
If you would only be my girl you would make me feel like the king of the road, and me and you baby, we can make beautiful music together. We can have all the fun in the world while I'm just lovin' you under the Christmas tree. And just looking at you, baby, I can see that you love me too - and you look so good in love.
Someday soon I plan to buy a house for us. You ask "When will I start; will I just dream awhile?" No, I promise, I will start looking right away, today. I get this happy feeling all over just thinking about doing this for us. It's almost like getting a fever. (I hope you're getting this fever two.)
If we plan for a Christmas wedding, I'd like to have red carnations and white roses for the bouquets and I will wear a beautiful, new white sport coat. Outside it will be such a winter wonderland. (I know your friend from the South, the one you call the "Bahama Mama" will be so excited about seeing snow that she'll jump up and down and say, "goody, goody!") Maybe she can lend you that beautiful necklace she made from those pearly shells. And we can also ask her to bring up some of that good tequilla two.
For the wedding party we could use a nickelodian, but I suggest we hire a good band so we can listen to the music. Then with my gypsy feet I will sweep you off the dance floor. As their distant drums play we will be just like dancing shadows; we will dance so lightly that our footsteps will hardly be heard. And when they play the last waltz, right before the party's over, I will ask you to waltz with me - forever. Then you can come home with me, and from then on we will be together all day and all night. (Just the idea of your hot lips on mine gets me all shook up.)
I don't know if this is the way to your heart and I know I'm not the best; in fact sometimes I keep seein' my father in me. But please don't turn your back on me now. Remember, we won't stay young forever. And I love you so - please don't just kiss me goodbye - that would bring me so many heartaches. You can put me on top of the world by just saying, "Yes". While I don't know what lies over the hill, I know our love will be a long and lasting love.
Lovingly yours,Reet Petite

Editor: For a round world,
