A unique SD symbol? / Ein einzigartiges SD-Symbol?

While surfing thru the internet for gold mining I accidentally dropped into the web site of the Kyrgyz Kumtor Operating Company. 

The head used here has directly been copied from Kumtor's web site

Beim Surfen durch das Internet nach Goldbergbau stieß ich zufällig auf die Website der kirgisischen Kumtor Operating Company.

The company logo shows a symbol prettily known to us square dancers. In Kyrgyzstan it is also well known but for the gold mining Kumtor Company and surely not for square dancing. Kumtor is run in a joint venture with the Canadian Cameco Corporation that is digging for uranium, gold and more.

So from now on you can't be sure any more whether you see square dancers driving in front of you in a car with that certain symbol sticking beside the licence plate. It also might be a Kyrgyz gold miner …

Das Firmenlogo zeigt ein für uns Squaredancer wohl bekanntes Symbol. In Kirgisien ist es ebenfalls wohl bekannt, jedoch für die Goldbergbau-Firma Kumtor und sicherlich nicht für Squaredance. Kumtor wird als Jointventure mit der kanadischen Cameco Corporation geführt, welche nach Uran, Gold und weiterem gräbt.

Somit kann man von jetzt an nicht mehr sicher sein, ob man Squaredancer im Auto vor einem fahren sieht, welches dieses gewisse Symbol neben dem Nummernschild kleben hat. Es könnte auch ein kirgisischer Goldgräber sein …
