"Los Canarios"

Since New Years Eve 1996/97, the foundation date of our A-club on Gran Canaria, there has been an club vacation trip to the island each year in November. Of course we workshop and dance, but also hike, dive, swim in the ocean or swimming-pool or have fun on the beach, just as we like it. The best of a club vacation trip is the sense of community during the dance as well as the leisure activity with friends or even alone. You can visit the typical markets, go to Mogan (eat some fruit salad?), drive to the up-country, visit the capital Las Palmas and explore the history. There is a lot to be seen and experienced, for each taste something. The highlight of the club vacation is a group excursion. Last November we drove up to the mountains and visited the caves where the Guanchos, the aborigines of the Canary Islands, live in. Most of their caves were cut directly in the volcanic rocks, kind of space saving, but they even have a small church with a tiny bell tower integrated in the rocks. This year the Los Canarios will spend their annual club vacation with about 40 people on the isle of Lanzarote. Experts confirm that the island is not only very pretty, but it also offers some interesting cultural aspects. Besides the club vacation there are two established club dates: One of it is a get together in a private garden of the Rhein-Main area in order to exchange all the nice pictures taken during the last club vacation as well as review the good times. The other club date always happens to be the first Saturday in October, this year it will be the 6th of October, when the Los Canarios invite you to their annual club dance in Germany. We will be dancing the A1/A2 program from 4:00 to 7:30 p.m. with Jürgen Löder at the Bürgerhaus Nieder-Roden in Rodgau. At the same location there will traditionally follow the clubnight of the Witches & Wizards with Uwe Krämer and Jürgen Löder calling the Mainstream program. Everyone is welcome to spend a nice afternoon and evening on October 6, 2001, dancing with friends from the closer and farther surroundings (it's also interesting for those dancers who collect signatures for their Friendship and/or Century Book). During the dance there will be coffee/tea and cake available as well as a snack in the evening. See you soon in a square! Los Canarios

Seit Silvester 1996/97, als unser A-Club auf Gran Canaria gegründet wurde, findet jährlich im November ein zweiwöchiger Cluburlaub auf der Insel statt. Natürlich gibt es Workshops und Tanz, aber es wird auch gewandert, getaucht, am Strand gefeiert, im Meer und Swimmingpool geschwommen, gerade so wie man Lust hat. Das Schöne an einem Cluburlaub sind das Gemeinschaftsgefühl beim Tanzen sowie die weitere Gestaltung der Freizeit mit Freunden oder für sich. So kann man z.B. die einheimischen Märkte besuchen, nach Mogan (Obstsalat essen?) oder ins Landesinnere fahren, die Hauptstadt Las Palmas und ihre Geschichte erkunden. Es gibt immer viel zu sehen und zu erleben, für jeden Geschmack etwas. Höhepunkt des Cluburlaubs ist ein gemeinsamer Ausflug. Im vergangenen November sind wir ins Gebirge zu den bewohnten Höhlen der Guanchos, den Ureinwohnern der Kanarischen Inseln, gefahren, wo die meisten Behausungen aus dem steilen Vulkanfels platzsparend gehauen sind, selbst eine kleine Kirche mit ihrem winzigen Glockenturm ist im Felsen vorhanden. Dieses Jahr werden die "Los Canarios" den Cluburlaub mit ca. 40 Personen auf Lanzarote verbringen. Kenner bestätigten, dass die Insel nicht nur sehr schön ist, sondern auch kulturell ein interessantes Angebot vorzuweisen hat. Neben dem Tanzurlaub gibt es zwei feste Clubtermine: Zum einen treffen wir uns in einem Garten des Rhein-Main-Gebietes, um anhand der Bildersammlungen vom letzten Tanzurlaub die schöne Zeit noch einmal Revue passieren zu lassen. Zum anderen halten die Los Canarios immer am ersten Samstag im Oktober, dieses Jahr also am 6. Oktober, ihren jährlichen Clubabend in Deutschland. Getanzt wird A1/A2 mit Jürgen Löder von 16.00 bis 19.30 Uhr im Bürgerhaus Nieder-Roden im Rodgau. Traditionsgemäß geht der Nachmittag dann im selben Raum in den Mainstream-Clubabend der Witches & Wizards mit Uwe Krämer und Jürgen Löder über. Alle, die einen schönen Tanznachmittag und -abend mit Freunden aus der näheren und weiteren Umgebung verbringen möchten, sind am 6. Oktober 2001 herzlich willkommen (auch für Sammler von Unterschriften für das Friendship und/oder Century Book interessant). Neben dem Tanzprogramm werden nachmittags Kaffe/Tee und Kuchen sowie abends ein kleiner Imbiss angeboten. Bis bald in einem Square! Los Canarios
