Evaluation of the Questionnaires (3)

In 2003 we asked the dancers for their opin-

ion. The evaluation of the comments on the

questionnaires has naturally taken a bit

longer. Here is the third collection of inter-

esting comments:

-

Desirable is a German Convention.

That way maybe the north/south gra-

dient could be avoided.

-

Please, a Jamboree in the north, e.g.

Kiel.

-

There should be no 3-day events

apart from Jamborees!

-

Special events like IPAC (Barmstedt)

can well take three days.

-

For specials the 100 km limit should

be reintroduced. No 3-day events –

also no club night the night before.

Only allow 3 days for Jamborees (and

courses).

-

If there is an interesting dance pro-

gram or caller/cuer then I will drive

to events which are more distant. But

the dance program should have an in-

teresting centre (A1, A2, Round) and

not be mixed higgledy-piggledy.

-

MS – Plus - Round is enough for a

Jamboree. A bright example was the

Winter Jamboree 1997 in Bammental!

-

More MS-DBD and appropriately

qualified callers.

-

It is important how the dance pro-

grams are presented. Super are callers

with many of their own ideas and in-

terpretations.

-

For me the fun doesn't depend on

the program but on how it is pre-

sented.

-

More Rounds at Jamborees.

-

The most important at specials and

Jamborees is Round Dancing.

Im Jahr 2003 haben wir eine Tänzerbefragung

durchgeführt. Die Auswertung der Kommentare

auf den Fragebögen hat naturgemäß etwas län-

ger gedauert. Hier die dritte Auswahl von inte-

ressanten Anmerkungen:

-

Wünschenswert wäre eine German Con-

vention. Damit ließe sich das Nord-Süd-

Gefälle vielleicht vermeiden.

-

Bitte ein Jamboree im Norden, z.B. Kiel.

-

Es sollte keine 3-Tages-Veranstaltung

geben außer Jamborees!

-

Spezielle Veranstaltungen wie iPAC

(Barmstedt) können gerne über drei Tage

dauern.

-

Für Veranstaltungen sollte die 100-km-

Grenze wieder eingeführt werden. Keine

3-Tages-Veranstaltungen – auch nicht mit

Clubabend vorher. Nur bei Jamborees

(und Lehrgängen) die 3 Tage gewähren.

-

Bei einem interessanten Tanzprogramm

oder Caller/Cuer fahre ich auch zu Ver-

anstaltungen, die weiter weg sind. Das

Tanzprogramm sollte aber einen interes-

santen Schwerpunkt haben (A1, A2,

Round) und nicht kunterbunt gemischt

sein.

-

MS - Plus - Round reicht bei einem Jam-

boree. Ein leuchtendes Beispiel dafür war

das Winter-Jamboree 1997 in Bammen-

tal!

Mehr MS-DBD und entsprechend quali-

fizierte Caller.

-

Es ist wichtig, wie die Tanzprogramme

rübergebracht werden. Super sind Caller

mit vielen eigenen Ideen und Interpreta-

tionen.

-

Für mich hängt der Spaß nicht vom Pro-

gramm ab, sondern davon, in welcher Art

es dargeboten wird.

At many specials no Round dancing

is offered although there are many

Round dancers who are always

pleased when they can do some

Rounds.

Good Non ECTA callers and teach-

ers at Jamborees!!! Then more people

will come!

-

The caller can be a "local" one. It's

not necessary to fetch him from who

knows where. He just has to be good!

-

Caller seminars from Top callers at

specials and Jamborees. – two to

three hours and if possible free of

charge. More callers will come, also

with dancers following them.

-

Too few workshops at Jamborees and

Specials.

-

Too few introductions into other lev-

els are offered at Jamborees.

-

At Jamborees a Round Dance Intro-

duction should be offered.

-

Generally too high entry fees and

cost of food and drink.

-

The entry fees for specials increase

too much.

-

More dancing in the sense of rhyth-

mic movement to corresponding mu-

sic. No interrupted technical walking.

Square Dance instead of Square

Walk.

-

Important for me are a good dance

floor and the sound.

-

Children’s program

-

Desirable is a program for children,

not only up to seven years but also

for the older non-dancing rising gen-

eration.

-

I don't like to go to Jamborees. It is

all too impersonal for me. I prefer

dancing in a little group because there

the contact to other people is better.

-

Das Wichtigste bei Veranstaltungen und

Jamborees ist für mich Round Dance.

-

Bei vielen Veranstaltungen wird kein

Round Dance angeboten, obwohl es sehr

viele Round Dancer gibt, die sich immer

freuen, wenn sie Round tanzen können.

-

Gute Nicht-ECTA-Caller und -Teacher

bei den Jamborees!!! Dann kommen auch

mehr Leute!

-

Der Caller kann gern ein "örtlicher" sein.

Er muss nicht "wer weiß woher" kom-

men. Hauptsache gut!

-

Callerseminare von Top-Callern auf Ver-

anstaltungen und Jamborees – zwei bis

drei Stunden und möglichst kostenlos. Es

kommen mehr Caller, auch mit Tänzern

im Schlepptau.

-

Zu wenige Workshops bei Jamborees

und Veranstaltungen.

-

Es werden zu wenige Einführungen in

andere Levels bei Jamborees angeboten.

-

Bei Jamborees sollte eine Round Dance

Introduction angeboten werden.

-

Generell zu hohe Eintritts- und Verpfle-

gungspreise.

-

Die Eintrittspreise der Specials steigen zu

stark.

-

Mehr Tanzen im Sinne von rhythmischer

Bewegung zu entsprechender Musik.

Kein abgehacktes technisches Gehen.

Square Dance statt Square Walk.

-

Wichtig für mich sind ein guter Tanz-

boden und die Beschallung.

-

Kinderprogramm

-

Wünschenswert ist ein Kinderprogramm,

nicht nur bis sieben Jahre, sondern auch

ältere für nicht-tanzenden Nachwuchs.

-

Ich gehe sehr ungern auf Jamborees. Mir

ist das alles zu unpersönlich. Ich mag lie-

ber das Tanzen im kleinen Kreis, weil ich

denke, dass dann der Kontakt zu anderen

Leuten besser ist.
