New Honorary Lifetime members / Neue Ehrenmitglieder

Peter and Marion Weber became Hono-

ryry Lifetime members of EAASDC at

the Fall Round Up in Bergheim. For all

those that weren’t present at the general

membership meeting we provide the lau-

datio for Peter and Marion for everyone

to read here.

"In 1967 he made his first moves within

square dancing and graduated in January

1968. His wife a few years later. During

the last 40 years both worked hard within

their home town on the club level for

square dancing. He was one of the or-

ganisators of many jamborees.

In 1988 he became member of the

EAASDC board and took over the duty

of the Bulletin Editor. After the separa-

tion of the duties of editor and adminis-

trator in 1990 he decided to remain with

the duties of the administrator. Until

1994 he held this office.

He is the developper of the software that

is used to maintain the databases clubs

and the readers. That then developped

program is still used in slightly modified

form today.

He is a busy visitor of jamborees and has

only missed a few membership meetings.

He is interested in moving something

within square dancing, sometimes with

a raised forefinger. His home town is

Berlin and the name of his wife is

Marion. I guess you know already whome

I’m talking about.

I make the motion to accept Peter and

Marion Weber as Honorary Lifetime

Members of EAASDC."

Both were accepted with an overwhelm-

ing applause and standing ovations.

Many thanks for their outstanding work.

Peter und Marion Weber wurden beim Fall

Round Up in Bergheim zu Ehrenmitglie-

dern der EAASDC ernannt. Für all jene, die

während der Mitgliederversammlung nicht

anwesend waren, ist hier die Laudatio auf

Peter und Marion nachzulesen.

"1967 machte er seine ersten Schritte im

Square Dance und wurde im Januar 1968

graduiert. Seine Frau ein paar Jahre später.

In den vergangenen knapp 40 Jahren haben

beide in ihrer Heimatstadt viel Arbeit auf

Clubebene für den Square Dance geleistet.

Er war einer der Organisatoren für viele

Jamborees.

1988 wurde er EAASDC Vorstandsmitglied

und übernahm das Amt des Bulletin-

Editors. Nach Trennung der Aufgaben von

Editor und Administrator im Jahr 1990 ent-

schied er sich für das Amt des Administra-

tors. Dieses hatte er bis 1994 inne.

Ihm haben wir die Software zur Verwaltung

der Clubdaten und Abonnenten zu ver-

danken. Das in dieser Zeit entwickelte

Programm ist heute noch in leicht abge-

wandelter Form im Einsatz.

Er ist fleißiger Jamboree-Besucher und lässt

kaum ein Membership-Meeting aus, immer

daran interessiert im Square Dance etwas zu

bewegen; manchmal auch mit erhobenem

Zeigefinger. Seine Heimatstadt ist Berlin.

Seine Frau heißt Marion. Ich glaube Ihr

wisst längst, von wem ich spreche.

Ich stelle hiermit den Antrag auf Ehren-

mitgliedschaft für Peter Weber und seine

Frau Marion."

Beide wurden mit einem donnernden

Applaus und Standing Ovations aufge-

nommen.
