Evaluation of the Questionnaires / Auswertung der Fragebögen (8)

In 2003 we asked the dancers for their

opinion. The evaluation of the com-

ments on the questionnaires has

naturally taken a bit longer. Here is

the eighth collection of interesting

comments:

-

When I go to a Jamboree only for the

Saturday then I still have to pay the

fee for the whole weekend.

-

Jamborees should take place more

often in the northern part of

Germany.

-

Jamborees would be interesting in

beautiful towns like Brussels, Luxem-

bourg, and Prague.

-

Suggestion: at Jamborees have a kind

of pin board flea market where, for

example, new callers can search for

equipment and such like.

-

Normally it is a mix of dance pro-

gramme, callers and distance that in-

fluences my decision whether to go

to a Jamboree or other event.

-

The entrance fees should not be so

high.

-

Too many events on the same week-

end. That is a competition of the

type "Who has the best caller?".

-

I don't like it when Mainstream is

neglected at events. At the Jamboree

in Kehl, for example, all good callers

were calling Plus.

-

There are too many workshops of-

fered. The callers should practise this

only in their clubs.

-

At Square Dancing I prefer Plus so

that I may maintain that level because

I often stay in the USA for several

months.

-

Possibly take the biggest hall for Plus.

-

The evening programme at a Jambo-

Im Jahr 2003 haben wir eine Tänzerbe-

fragung durchgeführt. Die Auswertung

der Kommentare auf den Fragebögen

hat naturgemäß etwas länger gedauert.

Hier die achte Auswahl von interessan-

ten Anmerkungen:

-

Wenn ich nur am Samstag zum Jamboree

komme, muss ich den Preis wie für das

ganze Wochenende zahlen.

-

Jamborees sollten häufiger als bisher im

Norden Deutschlands stattfinden.

-

Interessant wären Jamborees in attrak-

tiven Orten wie z.B Brüssel, Luxemburg,

Prag.

-

Anregung: Auf Jamborees eine Art

Flohmarkt als Pinnwand einrichten, auf

der z.B. neue Caller Anlagen o.ä. suchen

können.

-

In der Regel ist es ein Mix aus Tanzpro-

gramm, Caller und Entfernung, der mich

veranlasst zu einer Veranstaltung oder

einem Jamboree zu fahren.

-

Die Eintrittspreise dürfen nicht so hoch

sein.

-

Zu viele Veranstaltungen am selben Wo-

chenende. Das ist ein Wettbewerb nach

dem Motto "Wer hat den besten Caller?".

-

Ich finde es nicht gut, dass Mainstream

auf Veranstaltungen vernachlässigt wird.

Auf dem Jamboree in Kehl z.B waren die

ganzen guten Caller beim Plus aktiv.

-

Es werden viel zu viele Workshops ange-

boten. Die Caller sollten dies nur in ihren

Clubs praktizieren.

-

Beim Square Dance bevorzuge ich Plus,

um es zu erhalten, da mich ich immer

einige Monate in den USA aufhalte.

-

Eventuell für Plus die größte Halle neh-

men.

-

ree should take place only in one hall.

Possibly only MS or MS, MS, Plus.

Rounds only in a separate hall.

Especially at Jamborees separate

Square and Round dancing in differ-

ent halls – no "In-betweens"!

-

Rounds should be offered at a Jam-

boree on Saturday evenings only in a

separate hall - never changing with

Squares.

-

It's not favourable dancing at the

same time in different halls square

and round changing. So a "Non

Round Dancer" has long breaks. Bet-

ter would be Round Dancing in a

separate hall. At the Jamboree in

Braunschweig, for example, often 100

dancers were sitting outside watching

6 (!) couples Round Dancing.

-

Don't offer so many levels at a special

dance. Students should only be pro-

vided with Student Dances and not

for special dances as nobody is served

by this. Partly it is a standing party for

the graduated and the students are

also disappointed when it doesn't

work.

-

Dancing only in maximum of 2 halls.

-

Too few contra and Old Style were

danced. Both are very interesting and

varied. The dance programmes at

events and Jamborees are too one-

sided and boring.

-

Able to be reached by public trans-

port is important.

-

I suggest a supervised valuables de-

posit/wardrobe.

-

Important at Jamborees but also oth-

ers events is the care of children!

-

Occupation for children (playground

for children)

-

Care of children is very welcome at

events.

Es sollten insbesondere bei Jamborees

trennt werden – keine "In-betweens"!

Round sollte bei Jamborees am Samstag-

abend in einer extra Halle angeboten

werden. Nie im Wechsel mit Square.

-

Es ist nicht günstig, wenn zeitgleich in

verschiedenen Hallen Square und Round

im Wechsel getanzt wird. Dadurch hat

ein "Nicht-Round-Tänzer" lange Pausen.

Besser wäre Round Dance in einer eige-

nen Halle. Beim Jamboree in Braun-

schweig z.B. haben häufig 100 Tänzer am

Rand gesessen und 6 (!) Paaren beim

Round Dance zugeschaut!

-

Bei einem Special sollten nicht so viele

Levels angeboten werden. Students soll-

ten nur für Student Dances vorgesehen

werden und nicht auf Specials, da keinem

dabei gedient ist. Teilweise ist es dann ei-

ne Stehparty für die Graduierten und die

Students sind auch enttäuscht, wenn´s

dann nicht so läuft.

Tanz nur in maximal 2 Hallen.

-

Es wird viel zu wenig Kontra und Old

Style getanzt. Beides ist sehr interessant

und abwechslungsreich. Die Tanzpro-

gramme bei Veranstaltungen und Jambo-

rees sind zu einseitig und langweilig.

-

Erreichbarkeit mit öffentlichen Ver-

kehrsmitteln ist wichtig.

-

Ich finde auch einen beaufsichtigten

Wertsachendienst/ Garderobe sinnvoll.

-

Wichtig bei Jamborees aber auch anderen

Veranstaltungen ist die Kinderbetreuung!

-

Beschäftigung für Kinder (Kinderspiel-

ecke)

-

Kinderbetreuung kommt auf Veranstal-

tungen gut an.
