Seven years ago my wife Anna and I became presidents of the club and began managing it. Our members come from USA, Germany, England, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Lebanon, Vietnam, the Philippines and Thailand. Natives, that is Saudi Arabians, we unfortunately cannot accept as members because the are not used to have men and women dance together and accepting them into the club would therefore only cause problems. 

One of our tasks - among - others is the training of new dancers. In order to keep the club going there is a Basic-Mainstream class twice a year in addition to a Plus class. 

Because I never have found the time to qualify as a Caller our dancing is exclusively done to records. Once a week, namely on Monday, we have our club night while every Wednesday is devoted to training. As far as the training in class is concerned we keep to the rules of "CALLERLAB". 

There have been several attempts to learn A1/A2 but due to a rather high fluctuation this attempts were not too successful but it's only a pleasure deferred - even here in the desert. Once or twice a year a Caller is invited to our club. At X-mas 1998 we enjoyed having Keith Haigh. During our "1001 Nights" Jamboree in April 1999 Tommy Morgenroth kept us on the move for one week. I would again like to thank both Callers with all my heart. 

At present our club has 37 members (17 girls and 20 boys). Our class 1998/99 (comprising 14 Students) has graduated in April 1999 when Tommy Morgenroth was there. It has already been Tommy's third trip to the desert. 

Here in Jeddah we have a Jamboree each year. We enjoyed visits of the following Callers: Keith Haigh and Tommy Morgenroth from Germany, Dave Whittington from England, Udo Steinel from Germany, Ken Sierecki and Phil Kozlowsky from the U.S. 

In May our new Basic-Mainstream class started with 15 Students. 

Vor sieben Jahren haben meine Frau, Anna, und ich den Club als Presidents übernommen. Unsere Mitglieder kommen aus: USA, Deutschland, England, Schweiz, Östereich, Lichtenstein, Libanon, Vietnam, Philippines und Thailand. Einheimische ( Saudis ) können wir im Club leider nicht aufnehmen, da es bei ihnen nicht üblich ist, dass Männer und Frauen zusammen Tanzen. Für uns würde das nur Probleme mit sich bringen.

Zu unseren Aufgaben gehört auch die Ausbildung der neuen Tänzer. Um den Club am Leben zu erhalten führen wir ein oder zweimal pro Jahr eine Basic-Mainstream Class durch. Eine Plus Class wird noch nebenbei gehalten.

Da ich noch niemals die Zeit hatte, um an einer Caller-Ausbildung teilzunehmen, tanzen wir hier ausschließlich zu Schallplatten. Einmal pro Woche, Montags, haben wir unseren Club-Abend, der Mittwoch steht ganz im Zeichen der Ausbildung. Bei der Ausbildung der Class halten wir uns an die Regeln des "CALLERLAB".

Wir hatten schon mehrmals versucht A1/A2 zu lernen, da jedoch die Fluktuation hier sehr hoch ist wurde daraus bis jetzt leider noch nichts, jedoch aufgeschoben ist auch hier in der Wüste nicht aufgehoben.

Ein- oder zweimal im Jahr laden wir einen Caller zu uns ein. Bei unserer Weihnachtsfeier 1998 hatten wir das Glück, Keith Haigh bei uns zu haben. Zu unserer Jamboree - "1001 Nights" - im April '99 hat uns Tommy Morgenroth für eine Woche auf Trab gebracht. Bei beiden Callern möchte ich mich hiermit nochmals recht herzlich bedanken.

Zur Zeit haben wir 37 Members ( 17 Girls & 20 Boys ). Unsere Class 1998/99 (14 Studenten) haben wir im April 99 zusammen mit Tommy Morgenroth graduiert. Für Tommy war es bereits schon seine 3. Reise in die Wüste.

Jedes Jahr haben wir hier in Jeddah eine Jamboree. Als Caller konnten wir bisher bei uns begrüssen: Keith Haigh (Deutschland), Tommy Morgenroth (Deutschland), Dave Whittington (England), Udo Steinel (Deutschland), Ken Sierecki (USA), Phil Kozlowsky (USA).

Im Mai haben wir eine neue Basic-Mainstream Class mit 15 Students begonnen.
