CSCTA Convention 1999

| You may remember it. It was a couple of
years ago. The EAASDC had chosen the first eastern
European club in the Association, M-SEPARATE SDC from
Prague, to organise the Summer Jamboree 1992. Several
months later, on the 26-28 June 1992, Prague, the capital
of the Czech Republic (at that time Czechoslovakia), the
pearl of historic cities in the world, and M-SEPARATE SDC
hosted 1,700 square and round dancers from all over the
world. Many of them were in Prague for the first time and
they used the best of this opportunity and they joint the
dance activities with short holidays to get to know more
about Prague, about our country, more about people living
there. It was a beautiful sunny weekend. The weather
joint us in our dance celebration. Almost all Saturday
sightseeing tours ended at the Old Town Square where over
600 dancers filled one third of the square in the Open
Air Dance. Wonderful memories. The Jamboree initiated a big square dance boom in our republic and it also accelerated our effort to establish our callers and cuers association. In November 1992 the Czech and Slovak Callers and Teachers Association was born. Since that time, every April, we all gather at our annual dance event, CSCTA Convention. The Convention moves from place to place, from town to town, from club to club. It was in Opava, Liberec, Ricany, Trutnov, Zliv, and Plzen. It passed east and west, north and south and just now, after seven years, the time has come and the 7th CSCTA Convention 7th CSCTA Convention come to Prague. The capital Prague and M-SEPARATE SDC will host dancers from the whole Czech Republic and Slovakia. Dancers from Germany, Great Britain and other European countries also plan to come. Just after seven years the Convention returns back to Prague, back to its roots. It’s time to turn a head back and refresh the memories and also to look forward to new friendships and experience . 7th CSCTA Convention can be a good opportunity, maybe a challenge, for you to come to Prague. To come and to learn more about our square and round dances, to learn more about Prague, about the Czech Republic. To come to talk to people living here. To come and to celebrate spring coming to Prague. To come and to DANCE. |
Ihr erinnert Euch vielleicht, es war vor
einigen Jahren. Die EAASDC hatte den ersten
Osteuropäischen Club der Association, den M-SEPARATE
SDC, ausgewählt, das Sommer-Jamboree 1992 zu
organisieren. Einige Monate später, vom 26. bis 28. Juni
1992, waren Prag, die Hauptstadt der Tschechischen
Republik (damals der Tschechoslowakei) - eine Perle unter
den historischen Städten der Welt - und der M-SEPARATE
Square Dance Club die Gastgeber für 1.700 Square- und
Round-Tänzer aus aller Welt. Viele von ihnen waren zum
erstenmal in Prag, machten das Beste aus dieser
Gelegenheit und verbanden die Tanzaktivitäten mit einem
kurzen Urlaub, um mehr über Prag, über das Land und
über die Leute zu erfahren, die hier leben. Es war ein
wunderbar sonniges Wochenende. Das Wetter entsprach
unserem Tanzfest. Fast alle Besichtigungstouren am
Sonntag endeten am Altstadtplatz, wo über 600 Tänzer
ein Drittel des Platzes beim Open-Air-Tanz füllten. -
wunderbare Erinnerungen. Das Jamboree zündete eine riesige Square-Dance-Begeisterung in unserer Republik und beflügelte auch unsere Anstrengungen, unsere Caller und Cuer Association zu gründen. Im November 1992 entstand die "Tschechische und Slowakische Caller und Teacher Association". Seit dieser Zeit versammeln wir uns alle jeden April zu unserer jährlichen Tanzveranstaltung, der CSCTA Convention. Die Convention wandert von Ort zu Ort, von Stadt zu Stadt, von Club zu Club. Sie war in Opava, Liberec, Ricany, Trutnov, Zliv und Pilsen. Sie ging nach Ost und West, nach Nord und Süd und nun, nach sieben Jahren, ist die Zeit reif, daß die 7. CSCTA Convention Die Hauptstadt Prag und der M-SEPARATE SDC werden Gastgeber für die Tänzer aus der ganzen Tschechischen Republik und Slovakien sein. Tänzer aus Deutschland, Groß Britannien und anderen europäischen Ländern haben auch vor zu kommen. Jetzt nach sieben Jahren kehrt die Convention nach Prag zurück, zurück zu ihrem Ursprung. Es ist an der Zeit, zurückzublicken und die Erinnerungen wachzurufen, aber auch den Blick nach vorn zu richten auf neue Freundschaften und Erfahrungen. Die 7. CSCTA Convention könnte eine gute Gelegenheit, vielleicht eine Herausforderung, für Euch sein, nach Prag zu kommen - zu kommen und mehr über Square und Round Dance zu lernen, mehr über Prag, mehr über die Tschechische Republik . . . - zu kommen, um mit den Leuten zu reden, die hier leben . . . - zu kommen, um den Frühling in Prag zu begrüßen . . . - zu kommen und zu TANZEN.
