My visit to Hamburg was an experience not to forget. Initially I thought that I would be the only "Brit" their but was surprised to see a dozen or so of us. The dancing was typically German (good & quick) and it was a pleasure to dance with so many energetic and knowledgeable dancers. I was privileged to attend the "Membership Meeting" and to be given a translator. In previous years, I have had to guess what was being said and I did not always get it right, but on this occasion not only did I understand what was said but more importantly the way in which it was meant. I unfortunately missed the beginning of the "Grand March" because of a mix up with the transport arrangements but still found the event enjoyable. I would like to wish all readers of "Bulletin" good luck for the future and good health. See you in a square. John Webb President BAASDC |
