Dear members of EAASDCwe, the election committee, would like to inform you about the current planning status for the EAASDC board election 2025. We have already informed you in general about the upcoming election in the last bulletin issues and provided an interim status. Here we provide further information on the EAASDC board election 2025 on the basis of the statutes, rules of procedure (GO) and election regulations (WO). Election modeThe election mode - individual election or block election - was voted on at the last general meeting. The "individual election" election mode applies. The election will take place, as usual, at the general meeting for the Spring Jamboree on March 8, 2025. The Election Policy art. IV.A stipulates that the Election Meeting elects per individual voting the Board – consisting of President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, and at most 5 assessors (Members at Large, MaL) for specified tasks. If there is only one candidate, the election takes place by yes/no vote; if there are several candidates, the election takes place by name vote. A candidate is elected if he or she receives a simple majority, i.e. more than half of the valid votes cast, with abstentions not counting. If this majority is not achieved in the first ballot, a second ballot is held. If there are several people available for a position, the second ballot is held between the two people with the most votes from the first ballot, and the relative majority of the valid votes cast decides. If there is a tie again, the decision is made by drawing lots (WO IV.C 2.1). If there is only one person available for a ballot that is decided by the relative majority of the valid votes cast, the candidate must receive more yes votes than no votes and at least 15% of the participating eligible voters must have voted for the candidate (WO I.4.). If the candidate does not clear this hurdle, the application for this position can be reopened (WO I.5.). After all voting has been completed, the candidates are asked individually whether they accept the election. Candidacy:Applications must be submitted to the Election Committee (WA). The regulations published here must be observed. In principle, an informal application is possible. To help you, we provide a form on the EAASDC homepage. Candidacies to be submitted to: wahl(at)eaasdc.eu This address is active now. Applications can be submitted to the WA by email or post until January 24, 2025, 11:59 p.m. Before the actual ballot, the candidates will be presented on the homepage or in the bulletin. Each candidate will thus have the opportunity to introduce themselves and their goals. Any further active election propaganda is prohibited and can lead to exclusion from candidacy (WO III.C 4.). CandidatesAt the time of their election resp. nomination and during their complete term of office, all Board members must be members in a regular EAASDC member club. They have to take care not to neglect or even damage their Board office in the EAASDC by holding an office in other clubs. For their office, candidates should have the required time, dedication and ability to work in a team and must have full legal capacity. A careful and results-oriented approach to work is assumed, special knowledge for the office they run for is desirable. Considering the Association's European orientation basic knowledge of English is an advantage. PC skills are required for each Board office. Internet access and availability via e-mail and telephone is required for each Board office. The President determines allocation and distribution of the assessors' area of responsibilities and tasks. They depend on the respective requirements and business setting of EAASDC. For orientation for applicants, especially for the position of assessor, reference is made to the publication on the homepage. If you have any questions or require clarifications please do not hesitate to contact the Election Committee at wahl(at)eaasdc.eu.
