And here in the Berlin area, a lot has happened in the world of square dancing this May: In three clubs, dancers have been found who want to learn the art of calling. I find this very encouraging, because it ensures that square dancing will continue to thrive here and can keep evolving. After all, even the most attractive and successful advertising campaign for square dance won%u2019t help us in the long run if there aren%u2019t enough club callers to guide the new dancers. Perhaps, alongside the campaign to attract new dancers, we should also launch a campaign to recruit new leaders. After all, it takes years to train new leaders.The hot weather is slowly starting to set in again. Here near Berlin, we recently (22-26 May) already had temperatures nearing 30%u00b0C. Take care of yourselves, stay hydrated, and rein in your leaders a bit if they get a little too enthusiastic about the exercise .Greetings and stay healthy, MichaelLiebe Leserinnen und Leser,%u201eAlles neu macht der Mai%u201c hei%u00dft es ja bekanntlich. Auch beim Square Dance ist hier im Gro%u00dfraum Berlin im Mai einiges passiert: In drei Clubs haben sich T%u00e4nzer gefunden, welche die Kunst des Callens erlernen wollen. Ich finde das sehr ermutigend, denn damit ist eine Voraussetzung gegeben, dass der Square Dance hier weiterlebt und sich auch weiter entwickeln kann.Denn die sch%u00f6nste und erfolgreichste Werbekampagne f%u00fcr Square Dance hilft uns auf lange Sicht auch nicht weiter, wenn dann die Club Caller fehlen, um die neuen T%u00e4nzer zu betreuen. Vielleicht sollten wir parallel zur Werbekampagne f%u00fcr neue T%u00e4nzer auch eine Kampagne zur Gewinnung neuer Leader auf den Weg bringen. Denn es dauert ja auch Jahre, neue Leader auszubilden.Die hei%u00dfe Zeit beginnt so langsam wieder. Hier nahe Berlin hatten wir letztens (22. -26. Mai) schon mal Temperaturen nahe 30%u00b0 C.
