Epitaph NachrufBulletin April 2026 25That was probably the last time I spoke to him and saw him.Despite our relatively infrequent contacts, Tommy Morgenroth has remained vividly in my memory, and when I heard about his passing and the Ceremony of Life at the %u201cRanch%u201d in Munich, I decided to go there.It was a moving evening with 98 dancers from 22 clubs. Many of his longtime friends shared vivid stories and funny anecdotes. He was truly not a sad person and enjoyed life to the fullest.When I heard about all the other plans he had, I argued with our big boss and asked: %u201cWas that really necessary?%u201dHe wanted to do so much good for our wonderful sport. I hope that, if possible, others will carry on his legacy and his ideas and implement them in his spirit.I didn%u2019t know many of those present that evening, so I%u2019d like to thank those who welcomed me in the true spirit of the Square Dance Rules (or, alternatively, the Square Dance Spirit).It%u2019s a comfort to us who remain behind that Tommy is rocking heaven in the exquisite caller company and leading the little angels in a square.See you on the square. Er war wahrlich kein Mensch von Traurigkeit und genoss sein Leben so gut es ging.Als ich h%u00f6rte, was er noch alles vorhatte, habe ich mit unserem gro%u00dfen Chef gehadert und gefragt, ob das denn wirklich n%u00f6tig war.Er wollte so viel Gutes f%u00fcr unseren sch%u00f6nen Sport ansto%u00dfen. Ich hoffe, wenn m%u00f6glich, werden andere sein Erbe und seine Ideen aufgreifen und in seinem Sinne umsetzen.Ich kannte nicht viele der an dem Abend Anwesenden und m%u00f6chte mich daher bei denen bedanken, die mich ganz im Sinne der Square Dance Rules (alternativ: des Square-Dance-Geists) aufgenommen haben.Ein Trost kann uns Zur%u00fcckgebliebenen sein, dass Tommy in erlesener Caller-Gesellschaft den Himmel rockt und die Engelchen im Quadrat f%u00fchrt.Wir sehen uns im Square.
